The Manufacturing Operations Management Institute (MOMi) has reached an important milestone in the development of the Manufacturing Use Case Navigator, with strong participation from solution providers across the MOM/MES ecosystem.

To date, 24 vendors have actively participated, providing detailed and structured input directly into the Navigator. In addition, a further 29 vendors have been included based on publicly available information, supported by AI‑based analysis. Together, this approach delivers a broad and representative view of today’s MOM/MES solution landscape, reflecting both vendor‑supplied detail and market‑visible capabilities.

Transition to Insight Generation

With data collection now substantially complete, the initiative has entered its next phase: analysing the collected information and translating it into structured, use‑case‑driven insights. This analysis will form the basis of the Manufacturing Use Case Navigator Flagship Report, scheduled for publication in April.

The report will provide manufacturers with a clearer, use‑case‑focused view of available MOM/MES capabilities, supporting more transparent and informed solution selection decisions.

Vendor Participation and Visibility

Vendor participation plays a direct role in future visibility. Vendors that do not actively participate will not be included in the 2026 Manufacturing Use Case Navigator Flagship Report.

Non‑participating vendors may still be included within the Navigator database and considered during manufacturer solution selection support activities, subject to completion of the Navigator questionnaire. Active participation therefore directly influences how vendors are represented and positioned in future manufacturer engagements supported by MOMi.

Vendor Feedback Highlights Value of Use‑Case Approach

Participating vendors have highlighted the value of the Navigator’s structured, use‑case‑driven methodology. One MES vendor described their experience as follows:

“The use cases are clearly structured and well thought out. The questions were actionable and specific, making it possible to respond confidently and without ambiguity. Our input reflects actual capabilities rather than aspirational positioning.”

This feedback reinforces the Navigator’s intent: to move beyond marketing‑led claims and enable fact‑based comparison aligned to real manufacturing use cases.

Strengthening Transparency Across Manufacturing

MOMi extends its appreciation to all participating vendors for their openness, cooperation, and professional contribution. This collective effort strengthens transparency across the MOM/MES market and improves the quality of solution selection outcomes for manufacturers.

The insights generated through the Manufacturing Use Case Navigator are designed to support better‑informed manufacturing decisions, while providing participating vendors with clear, credible positioning in use‑case‑driven selection processes.
